Analytics vs. Analysis
The data or metrics that we collect are the jumping off point for the continuous improvement of your site. We collect data from a number of sources to create a moving baseline in each of the areas that we are studying. Changes, either externally caused or in response to our efforts, are statistically tested to reveal significant effects.
The charts, graphs, tables and test results are cumulatively known as analytics.
What we do with them and how we interpret them and the refinements developed are analysis.
Analytics without analysis are worthless. Analysis without analytics is impossible.
